Chiropractic Care

What Is Chiropractic?

Dr. Kimberly uses the analogy of a garden hose when explaining chiropractic. Water should flow nice and smooth through a hose, without anything to stop it. If someone stands on the hose, only intermittent spurts of water will get through.

The nervous system controls every system in the body. When an imbalance occurs, also known as a subluxation, it’s like standing on a nerve. Blockages in the flow of information from brain to body mean the message for proper function can’t get through, causing pain. Conditions like sciatica, headaches, and gut issues may result.

Chiropractic is health care without drugs or surgery. Our job is to heal the body naturally by taking pressure off the nerves and spine. Using manual techniques or adjustments, we can correct the imbalances and allow the body to function as it was designed to.

How We Can Help You

At Lorenz Family Chiropractic, we look at things differently. Taking a holistic approach, we examine the whole body to find out where your pain is coming from. In many cases, we find the origin of your issue in a completely different area of the body. Once corrected, other problems may also benefit.

Our patients have shown improvement from chiropractic care in relation to

  • Back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Headaches
  • Numbness and tingling in the extremities
  • Sciatica and other issues

Our Tools and Techniques

We use several techniques at Lorenz Family Chiropractic, depending on our patients’ needs. One or more techniques may be used to provide the best results for you. These include Diversified, Thompson Drop, Sacral Occipital Technique—SOT, and Activator Methods®.

We’re the only practice in the area using Cox Flexion Distraction therapy. Using a special table, we gently create space between the joints. Our patients tell us they love the way this therapy makes them feel. Spinal Decompression Therapy, Intermittent Spinal Traction, and Electrical Stimulation, may also be included in your care plan.
